How do I track nutrition?
All users can access nutrition logging from the REFUEL card on the home screen. Use quick suggestions or detailed logging to track your meals and drinks. Pro users additionally get AI-powered post-workout nutrition recommendations.
Do I need an API key?
Yes, MeloMove requires an LLM API key (OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini) for AI-powered recommendations and coaching.
How does mood tracking work?
Before and after each activity, you'll place a marker on the mood map (valence/arousal dimensions). This tracks your emotional trajectory and helps MeloMove recommend activities that improve your mood.
Can I customize quick log templates?
Yes! Tap any food item, then tap the pencil icon to edit. You can adjust the serving size (e.g., 250ml → 50ml) and nutrition values auto-scale proportionally. Toggle 'Show in Quick Log' and select meal types, then save. Quick log chips show serving size + calories (e.g., '50ml · 8 kcal'). Use 'Remove from Quick Log' to delete customizations.
Why are my recommendations different each time?
MeloMove's AI analyzes your current mood, energy level, time available, recent activities, and time of day to provide contextual recommendations. As these factors change, so do your recommendations.
How do I edit or delete logged meals?
Open 'Log Nutrition' and tap any recent log card to edit the timestamp. Long-press for additional options like deleting the entry. Changes sync immediately.
What are Activity Intents?
Activity intents let you filter recommendations by your goal: Energize (boost energy), Balance (find equilibrium), Restore (deep rest), Mind-Body (connection), Connect (social), or Focus (skill development).
How accurate are calorie estimates?
Calorie estimates are based on MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values, duration, and your personal profile (weight, age, gender). They are approximations and may vary based on workout intensity and individual metabolism.
Can I use MeloMove offline?
You can view previously generated recommendations, log nutrition, and track mood offline. However, generating new AI recommendations requires an internet connection to access the LLM API.
Where is my data stored?
All your fitness data, mood logs, and nutrition entries are stored locally on your device. MeloMove does not upload your personal data to external servers. Only AI recommendation requests are sent to your chosen LLM provider.
Can I log past workouts?
Yes! Tap the floating + button and select 'Log Activity' to manually record workouts you completed earlier. Enter the activity type, duration, calories, and mood before/after.
Why can't I get nutrition recommendations?
Nutrition recommendations require 200+ calories burned in the last 2 hours. If you don't meet this threshold, you'll see a message explaining the requirement. Complete a more intense workout or log multiple activities to reach the threshold.
How long are nutrition recommendations available?
Post-workout nutrition recommendations are available for 2 hours after workout completion. This matches the optimal nutrition timing window for recovery and muscle protein synthesis.
